The funny thing is most people admire Rudy for his stance on Homeland Security. The the problem is he does not fundamentally understand the consequences that our foreign policy has lead to. The Republicans have ventured so far from their principles that it makes me disappointed of the party today. This is why I am Libertarian. Try to sway you from one side or the other
Avoid sensitive issues that may be unpopular
Or flat out have no platform but a pretty face (No, I'm not talking about Hillary)
Rely on Name Recognition (I'm talking about Hillary)

You will find this in either Republican or Democrat candidates, but I implore you to find out. Who shows us to be a leader? Who will stand up for individuals and to keep our rightfully earned money? Who will be lead America to be a Great Nation that we are?

You won't find leadership in any candidate nor will you notice them to have leadership qualities. A leader is one who will make decisions not based upon polls but what is the right direction for the country. Our country was founded upon the principles of individuality and self-sovereignty…don't let politicians take this away from you. Vote Libertarian!

You may have heard from the news media outlets that a person has passed away in the most recent days. If you haven't heard of this then you must not live on this planet. I would hope with more important things in the world that we would have better things to report on than this Hollywood starlet that has not done anything for us. We have American troops in Iraq everyday that are dying...do they get the same treatment in the media? There are already tributes out for this person.

This is what I was talking about regarding watering down our youth. The media is portraying her as somebody so important that her death is on every channel. This is then what our youth aspire and look up to. I'm sure that some of young girls out there view her as an idol. I'm sure we want out young girls to aspire to become a trailer-trash, turned stripper, turn prostitute, turn playbody centerfold, turn crazy and high women. Who are your idols?

I'm sitting here at an Airport pissed off. Why? Because of my parents request of making me do something that I did not want to do. Doing so has caused me stress to no end and also stress to my family and other people...why do they do this? Good question, because simply they do not care about what I want but what they want. I'm sick and tired of playing this game. This makes me not want to come home in a very, very, very long time. (I can't stay away too long as I would miss my nieces too much.)

I'm trying to keep this in perspective as I blog... But you have your own life to live...nobody controls that. I have no idea why I agreed to this situation and I will NEVER again let this happen. I always did what I wanted to do in the past...why should this change? I wanted to create harmony and make my parents happy...but quite frankly to do that is either to lose a part of yourself and eventually have them live your life for you. Fuck that! I can NOT please them but I can definitely continue to do things that make me happy and successful.

What a learning lesson this has been for me this trip. Now I have to go home and start mending things for myself and to continue to get back on track.

I was driving to Pappasitos with someone very special to me and I realized that I have been blogging since before it went BIG on the Internet. If you go to My Links > Archives you will find a bunch of articles I wrote in the past...so it brings me to why am I complaining about this... I made a pretty successful attempt to create a larger based community when PromoteLiberty.org went with PostNuke but the hosting server crashed without a backup. I was pissed...who knows, my site could have been the myspace of the political realm (I can only dream.)

Nevertheless...I chose Myspace/Blogger to start blogging again...here I can keep up with friends and not worry about the webhosting bit. Maybe in the future I can make another "revolutionary" attempt on the web. Right now I will settle to rant & rave about issues.

I guess you can say that I have jumped on the MySpace.com/Blogger bandwagon but don't tell anybody else . In addition it saves me about $90 in webhosting fees and eventually I will redirect the traffic to PromoteLiberty.org to this blog. I intend to port all of my old articles to this blog, however I don't know how to post date some of this stuff so I may have to lump it into one day. This is expected, if you didn't predict this then you haven't been paying attention to the political scene. He is a choice that makes sense for the Democratic Party (remember I'm Libertarian), he doesn't have to deal with the gender issue as Hillary does nor the racial issue in regards to Barak Obama and Edwards has a solid liberal track record in Congress. He is up there in the polls and not such a polarizing figure like Hitlery. Clinton is not a good choice for this country, but if you are a left-leaning moderate then you may be looking for Obama or Edwards as your Presidential choice.

I'm still waiting for the Libertarian Presidential nomination, but that is a ways off.
I don't agree with John Edwards statement that he wants to take money away from the rich...the rich pay 60% of the taxes in the country and they are only comprised of the top 10% percent of the population. The so-called "rich" create jobs for the economy and keep our market afloat. It is just another method of race warfare that the Left enjoys playing with.

Yesterday I went shopping to pick up some gumbo to make for dinner. I went to the self-check out line, you know the ones that you have to press buttons and follow directions, well there was a man there that did not know how to use the self-checkout station. He stood there pressing the button to allow him to start scanning and the screen would not advance so that he could scan his products for purchase. He tried numerous times over the course of 2 minutes, however he could not get that button to move him to the next screen...he glanced over to the check-out guy in anger, he almost shouted out something to the check-out guy but in a second thought he decided to give it another go. He stood there pathetically trying to scan items when the scanner was not activated, he shuffled his feet, and his face got red. Finally, after about 5 minutes he had mustered enough strength to ask for the check-out guy for help.

When did we, as Americans, stand around and get angry for our own ignorance? Do we just think that information should just be handed to us or somebody should know that we are having a hard time? At the first hit of our own ignorance do we get angry or should we gain the information needed to accomplish the job? Why are we settling to be a class of citizens that at any sign of vulnerability we get angry or put our tails between our legs? Don't get me wrong I have compassion for my fellow man...but it only fuels the fire to those nay-sayers about America not being the greatest nation and superpower in the next decade. Are we breeding our citizens for doom?

Today Ted Kennedy took the spotlight only to make himself look like an ass when he grilled Justice Roberts regarding the “less fortunate.” He makes every attempt to ensure that Justice Roberts will try to use the courts, instead of legislation, to what Kennedy calls “eliminating discrimination in society.” I’m sorry Senator Kennedy but Justice Roberts has a little bit more class and abides by our Constitution regarding this sort of legislative duty.

"But not every president, not every legislator, and not every judge agrees that the federal government has the power to address and try to remedy the twin national problems of poverty and access to equal opportunity," Kennedy said.

"Judge Roberts, today we want to find out how you view the Constitution and our ability to protect the most vulnerable," said the Massachusetts Democrat.

"Do you believe that Congress has the power to pass laws aimed at eliminating discrimination in society, or do you believe that our hands are tied - that the elected representatives of the people of the us are without the power to pass laws aimed at righting wrongs, ending injustice, eliminating the inequalities that we have just witnessed so dramatically and tragically in New Orleans," Kennedy asked.

"The American people want to know where you stand. We want to find out your view of the rule of law and the role of courts in our system," said the senator.

If you haven’t learned yet…Hurricane Katrina has decimated the Gulf Coastal states and at the moment > 80 people have been reported dead with estimated figures 3 times that amount. New Orleans, Louisiana has declared martial law and 80% of the city is swimming under water riddled with oil, sewage, and silt. You can see pictures of the devastation here. Mississippi and Alabama all have their neighborhoods affected decimated and in some cases flooded to the extent that people need boats to get around to anywhere. There is no food, water, nor shelter for these individuals that chose to ride out the storm. Anheuser-Busch Ships 12,500 Cases of Canned Drinking Water to Support Relief Efforts. The Red-Cross has been dispatched to help aid those in need. Donate Here! Foreign aid is nowhere to be found… I’m disappointed…once the Tsunami hit Indonesia the American Red Cross was there to help immediately, the UN responded with troops to aid in the chaos, NATO helped provide bridges for travel. Where is the help now when the US is in need??? Where is the French donations since they are such caring and generous people. How hypocritical that global community is so willing to take our money, but unwilling to reciprocate this generosity. That is fine…Americans take care of their own people and donations from around the US will come flooding in to help these people affected by Hurrican Katrina. How much do you want to bet that some in the International Community is pointing the finger at the US and blaming this on our “karma” or our action in Iraq?

The catch phrase is Out with the Old, In with the New...that is what we need to do about our congressmen and representatives. Why do we have seasoned politicians? The longer they stay in office the more distance they have between their constituency. There was once a time when farmers and other reluctant individuals knew the issues of their local politics and were sent by their peers to engage themselves in debate at the House of Representatives. Now we have a groups of politicians that concentrate on their next election and create some type of incumbancy that secures their job. This is not the type of politician I want...nor the type of politician that cares about the real issues. Perhaps we need to start recruiting righteous citizens to step up to the job.

I’m pretty sick and tired of how the media portrays the Boy Scouts as an organization that cannot pick and choose its members. There is a question if they are public or private…well, I can tell you first hand that they are a private organization. I always wanted to join the Boy Scouts as their morality and teachings for young boys was something to be admired. However, I could not get into the Boy Scouts because my family could not afford the membership. In what manner does the Boy Scouts appear to be public? Is it because there there are membership fees? Perhaps it is because it has some religious foundations? Of course these are not reasons why it is public but reasons why it is a private organization. Perhaps the liberals don’t like the honesty, integrity, and honor that the Boy Scouts uphold and tries to infiltrate the organization with it sexual deviants and atheists.

Forcing the BSA to accept homosexual members would be like requiring the NAACP to accept a Klansman into their group.

I’m not just talking Liberals…although they are the ones that shout out the most about this topic…but people in general think that we have something called Separation of Church and State. Where in the Constitution does it mention that there is separation of church and state? It is a long-time tradition of our founding fathers to uphold religious liberty (through separation of church and state) and for the federal government to not aid religion. This is why I have no problems displaying the ten commandments at a Texas courthouse but not in favor of Bush’s faith-based initiative. Our founding fathers saw the corruption and how government was like under a religious monarchy, they new that when the government and religion were intertwined that religous jihad (i.e. the Crusades) could result. If we really wanted to track the root of the separation of church and state we need to read up on Anne Hutchinson.

It is funny but Democrats just don’t understand the implications and the impact of 9/11. Karl Rove, President Bush’s chief architect, says in a speech near ground zero:

"Liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers," Rove said Wednesday night. "Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 and the attacks and prepared for war."

Although this blogger does not totally agree with the concept of a War without an end. It is true that the Democrats…when there is a crisis…want to offer Americans therapy of some sort or a psychoanalysis to get to the root of the problem. Perhaps it was your mom beating you that night when you stole money out of her purse that you are feeling rage and hostility towards these religious fanatics.

It isn’t a matter of understanding these terrorists…they don’t care for the sanctity of life when they are willing to sacrifice themselves and kill 3,000 Americans for their God. It is our best interest to get some reconnaissance on the ground and locate these terror cells and cut off the head. Better technology and more special forces trained for counter-terrorism measures would do wonders in this day and age of “terror.” Furthermore, blame doesn’t lie with just the Clinton Administration, the Carter Administration dwindled down our recon missions and relied heavily on technology. We can rely on technology and use it as a tool…however it should not be used to replace ground troops. Technology can’t infiltrate a terror camp to learn of its goals and missions.

It seems that Senate Majority Leader Bill frist is confused after saying that there will be no vote and then reversing his decision after meeting with President Bush. Bolton is a man that rightly criticizes the effectiveness of the U.N. since its tarnished reputation from both the Oil-for-Food Scandal and allegations of rape among peacekeepers. I can tell you that I wouldn’t want the U.N. to do my accounting nor peacekeeping. Perhaps we can either find the political muscle through Bolton’s nomination to either clean up the U.N. or help transition the U.N. without the United States as its financial backer. As you know Washington state is having some problems deciding who won the governor's race. It has been a very close race, however Republican Dino Rossi is the official "Governor-Elect" and won both the election night and recount tallys. I'm sure the people that have the most problems voting received a sample ballot which they thew away in the trash. Christine Gregoire and Dino Rossi both ran for the Governor's Mansion in Washington State. Dino Rossi won the first certification after election day, Christine Gregoire LOST. However the margin was so slim that Washington State had to machine recount the ballots. Dino Rossi won by 42 votes, Christine Gregoire LOST AGAIN. Now Christine Gregoire and the Democratic Party will fund a 3rd recount, this one being a hand recount, to determine again that she lost. What Christine Gregoire wants to do is win the Governor's position through the courts...NOT through the Democratic process. Instead of conceding, she will drag this race on for possibly another month. Yes, 42 votes is a slim margin of victory however it is still a victory. Christine Gregoire will attempt to disenfranchise voters to gain the lead for the Governor's race. Hopefully, the Democrats in Washington State will never be viewed the same by the people...but who am I kidding...this is Washington State.

I do not like the idea of a "Blanket Primary" nor do I like the Louisiana Primary (top-two). I believe that each respective party should have their own private primary (one that is not funded by the federal government) and choose the candidate best suited to represent the party (Montana Primary). This is common sense as it does not allow votes from across party lines to vote the other party's candidate. It eliminates the possiblity of a Democrat voting for the weaker Republican candidate in order to further their party's nominee. However, since I-872 passed this may help the Libertarians in races in which only one major party candidate runs for an office. This often happens and it is possible for 3rd Party Candidate, hopefully Libertarian, to get a big chunk of the vote if not win the election. This initiative may be a blessing in disguise or not...we'll see in years to come. Now if only we can figure out how to maintain our major party status...

It isn't so often that I'm glad to see somebody elected that will expand the size of government, however President Bush won another 4 years in the White House. Don't Blame me I voted for Badnarik. (Libertarian) However, out of both candidates I believed that Bush was the lesser of two evils. Although I had a feeling that Bush would win, I was very excited to see Tom Daschle (SD - D) ousted by John Thune (R). After so many years of exposing Daschle's socialist programs and statements I feel finally vindicated. He is just one of the key politicians that wanted to create a socialist republic here in the United States. We have a long road ahead of us since Ted Kennedy (MA - D) and John F'n Kerry (MA - D) still preside over their senate seats. Badnarik Arrested!

It seems that Libertarian Candidate for President Michael Badnarik and Green Party Candidate for President David Cobb recently got arrested by trying to walk across the police barrier to attend the Bush and Kerry debates last Friday. Although I do wish to see more of the major third parties in the debates I do not think that this action was necessary. However, it does give publicity (good or bad) to the party. I believe people are realizing that we need to stop receiving only 2 sides in a debate since there are many other opinions and views on the issues. I'm hoping for the Libertarian Party in the debates in 2008. We need to appeal to the public file a suit to who controls the debate to allow at least more organized 3rd parties like the Libertarians or the Greens.

Kerry and Bush debated last night and who lost or won? The American People won, we know more about John Kerry and confirmed Bush's resolve. Regarding the candidates we will have to wait until November to see who will win or lose. Although Kerry held his own in the debate (we already know he is a good debater, but not a master'de'bater) he definately was more polished. However, Bush attacked the issues and really made clear his stance on the issues. Kerry, on the other hand...same old stuff...more on his ideas about Iraq and the War on Terror, but no answers. Maybe Kerry wasn't blown out of the water as I predicted, but he still has a long way to go and a lot of questions to answer.

My thoughts about my company's new commission structure.

This post regards the new commission structure and its failure to provide employees any type of commission in certain conditions.

Yes, we all know that we are underpaid. Per Hour, my guys make less than the Shoe Store next door! In the old commission structure the manager can award individuals based on total sales and performance. In the new commission structure we are faced with some sort of "Flat-Tax" rate that does not account for traffic driven to the store and/or any metrics remotely resembling any logical statistical models. It seems almost like picking numbers out of thin air. This type of commission structure assumes that all stores have the same traffic in which all sales people are able to acheive same the minimum commissionable margin amount. It does not account for region, traffic, or seasons. Here is where the fallacy lies.

We have a store goal to meet. Perhaps the margin goal is $39,000 in your store. You have 3 full-time sales employees (3 * $6,500 = $19,500) and you have 2 part-time sales employees (2 * $4,000 = $8,000). This amounts to $27,500. This gives a difference of $11,500 which is almost 2 additional full-time employees in minimum margin amount. If the individual cannot attain the minimum sales margin or more, is it prudent to replace the sales person with another individual that you have to then again train and invest time? What kind of worth are we trying to convey to our employees? That they are dispensible? If the employee achieves only minimum sales margain amount we still punish them for working so hard to achieve it and we have $0 to show for them at the end of the month. Even our technicians, when they meet the minimum tech revenue shows for considerable amount of incentive on their paycheck. We award inventory control points to the technician whereas the sales people do just as much work to keep inventory control at bay...yet we ONLY award the technician.

It is good business practice to maximize sales and profit. This I understand. But is it good business practice to turn over employees as frequently as we change our undershorts? What value do we put in our employees if we hold them to metrics they cannot attain in which they see no incentive and holds a job that only pays minimum wage? What loyalty do we instill in our employees to maintian their work ethic and motivation if we provide them a minimum wage with no incentives? This makes them only want to work less and to continue search for another job because it seems that this company does not value its employees. We can spout out that benefits are great, indeed they are great, however what matters is the amount of money we receive in our pockets at the end of the day to pay our bills. I'm sure that some employees will sacrifice some benefits to earn more on their paycheck.

What we can do instead, to motivate our salespersons, is to set the minimum commissionable margin amount that is suitable according to previous margin numbers. Perhaps take the mean of 3 months, set that as the goal and use the standard deviation added to the mean to model High Goal. Set minimum margain amounts according to their status by dividing the margin goal amount between FTE count. If we can do this and consistently provide some sort of incentive to our sales people we can see morale boost and the willingness to improve individually as an employee and as a salesperson. Not to mention, an attainable goal to earn commission for our employees. If we continue to keep our sales people down through unrealistic goals and show no incentive we will continue down this continuous spiral of employees using this job as a means to find another job in the process. Continuity of employees is a big factor, as a familiar face in a store provides the customer a welcome experience and comfortability which not CompUSA nor Best Buy can compare. How many of our customers know our sales associates by name whereas walking into CompUSA we have no idea one guy from the next. Let's keep this in mind and see what we can do for our employees.

Not to mention, this isn't the first time Dan Blather has falsely reported stories, In 1988 Dan Rather did a documentary on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) on Vietnam Vets. This program was labeled, "The Wall Within" and what we found out was that the whole thing was false. Watch out what you hear or see from the mainstream media. They have ties to Democrats as Dan Rather has attended fundraisers for the Travis County Democratic Party in Texas in which he still decries his independence from any party affiliation.

Nader seems to be having a lot of problems lately getting ballot access. His Liberal friends, the Democrats, are trying to block him from being on the ballot this November election. I think that this is wrong. As long as all of the procedures and petitions are signed and turned in there is no reason why he should not have ballot access. Although I do not agree with Nader's platform and ideals, I do believe he has every right to be on the ballot if the rules are followed.
